DMCA & Content Removal

We remove infringing material promptly. If you own the copyright in a story published here, or you are authorised to act for the owner, send a notice to [email protected] with the subject line “DMCA Notice”.

What a valid notice must include

1. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
2. The full URL of every page on this site you want removed — one story per URL, so we remove the right thing.
3. Your name, address and email address.
4. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
5. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner’s behalf.
6. Your physical or electronic signature.

What happens next

Valid notices are actioned ahead of everything else in the inbox. We remove or disable access to the material and confirm by email when it is done. Incomplete notices slow this down, so please include everything above.

Counter-notice

If your story was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, reply with a counter-notice containing your contact details, the URL that was removed, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the removal was in error.

Other removal requests

Requests that are not copyright claims — for example, content you believe depicts a real identifiable person, or that you posted and now want taken down — also go to the same address. Say clearly what you are asking for and include the URL.
